MAME cabinet, shelve mechanism

The issue of installing more PC-suitable shelves inside the cabinet was solved almost by itself earlier this week. Earlier on, I decided to replace the old shelve structure as it was a rather heavy construct designed with coin storage in mind. Stripping away the fire proof metallic power supply housing and the thick plywood shelves will hopefully contribute to a slightly more light-weight cabinet all-in-all. :)

Anyway.. I noticed the other day that someone in my block of flats had decided to renovate their kitchen and there was a huge waste container on the inner yard. Quickly digging through what kitchen furniture had been thrown on top of the pile, I found some rails that are used to install retractable drawers inside a cupboard frame. Perfect for making a custom shelves that can be pushed inside the cabinet when the front door is closed! Installing the rails was a doddle too, as they didn’t require more than cutting to proper length and drilling mounting holes inside the cabinet.
