QuadSID, powering up for the first time

Today it was time for the first power up test using the internal PSU. Whilst programming the Core boards I had them running on a lab power supply, so it was about time to take the most important step towards a self-contained system. Prior to powering up, I completed the SID power cable chain and spent a while or three measuring the entire system without the chips inserted. So..

  1. All voltages seem to be where they should
  2. No short circuits between power planes
  3. Cables conduct throughout the whole chain (zero resistance)
  4. Insert chips and flick the switch..

(Never mind that the picture above doesn’t have the SID chips inserted yet ;)

\o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ Power up ok and the SIDs are making noise!! \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ .. Time to move on to the control interface and the upper part of the enclosure in general!
