QuadSID, powering up for the first time
Today it was time for the first power up test using the internal PSU. Whilst programming the Core boards I had them running on a lab power supply, so it was about time to take the most important step towards a self-contained system. Prior to powering up, I completed the SID power cable chain and spent a while or three measuring the entire system without the chips inserted. So..
- All voltages seem to be where they should
- No short circuits between power planes
- Cables conduct throughout the whole chain (zero resistance)
- Insert chips and flick the switch..
(Never mind that the picture above doesn’t have the SID chips inserted yet ;)
\o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ Power up ok and the SIDs are making noise!! \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ .. Time to move on to the control interface and the upper part of the enclosure in general!
